Operation Smile

Operation Smile is an international children’s medical charity that heals children’s smiles, forever changing their lives.  Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided more than 2 million patient evaluations and over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.

As one of the most prominent children’s charities in the world and with a presence in over 60 countries, we are able to heal children’s smiles and bring hope for a better future.

Harrison Ford piloted his Cessna 208 Caravan to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Saturday, February 6, 2010 to command a remarkable airlift of Operation Smile medical volunteers and supplies into Hinche, Haiti to provide much needed treatment for the earthquake victims. Mr. Ford decided to volunteer his time, piloting skills and aircraft in response to an urgent request from Operation Smile, Inc. for logistical support after the organization announced that it was sending three additional medical teams and over 2 ½ tons of medical supplies across three locations in Haiti.

Corporate Angel Network

Corporate Angel Network is the only charitable organization in the United States whose sole mission is to help cancer patients access the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer by arranging free travel to treatment across the country using empty seats on corporate jets. This not only improves the patients’ chances of survival but at the same time, it reduces their emotional stress, physical discomfort and financial burden.

Harrison Ford works with the Corporate Angel Network, flying cancer patients to destinations where they can access the best possible treatment for their specific types of cancer.

Riverkeeper

Riverkeeper, in tandem with the Garrison Institute and fellow environmental orgs, are working with spiritual leaders in the Hudson Valley to commit to taking action to repair, restore, and protect the Hudson River and its watershed.

Riverkeeper is calling on our members to bring the “Statement of Shared Values and Committed Actions” to their center of worship to help create an even stronger, broader community that will be charged to protect our Hudson River and its watershed for decades to come.

Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect the environmental, recreational and commercial integrity of the Hudson River and its tributaries, and to safeguard New York City’s and Westchester County’s drinking water supply.

Harrison has served as ‘airborne watchdog’ to help Riverkeeper identify and prosecute polluters of the Hudson River.
