Operation Smile is an international children’s medical charity that heals children’s smiles, forever changing their lives. Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided more than 2 million patient evaluations and over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.
As one of the most prominent children’s charities in the world and with a presence in over 60 countries, we are able to heal children’s smiles and bring hope for a better future.
Harrison Ford piloted his Cessna 208 Caravan to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Saturday, February 6, 2010 to command a remarkable airlift of Operation Smile medical volunteers and supplies into Hinche, Haiti to provide much needed treatment for the earthquake victims. Mr. Ford decided to volunteer his time, piloting skills and aircraft in response to an urgent request from Operation Smile, Inc. for logistical support after the organization announced that it was sending three additional medical teams and over 2 ½ tons of medical supplies across three locations in Haiti.
Riverkeeper, in tandem with the Garrison Institute and fellow environmental orgs, are working with spiritual leaders in the Hudson Valley to commit to taking action to repair, restore, and protect the Hudson River and its watershed.
Riverkeeper is calling on our members to bring the “Statement of Shared Values and Committed Actions” to their center of worship to help create an even stronger, broader community that will be charged to protect our Hudson River and its watershed for decades to come.
Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect the environmental, recreational and commercial integrity of the Hudson River and its tributaries, and to safeguard New York City’s and Westchester County’s drinking water supply.
Harrison has served as ‘airborne watchdog’ to help Riverkeeper identify and prosecute polluters of the Hudson River.

Earth Share is a nationwide network of the country’s most respected environmental and conservation organizations and offers a simple way to care for our health, water, air, land and wildlife. Earth Share is dedicated to supporting the vital state, national and international organizations working to protect the environment and our well-being every day. Harrison narrated a public service announcement for Earthshare.
Jackson Hole Land Trust
Jackson Hole Land Trust is a private, non-profit organization established in 1980 that works to preserve open space and the scenic, ranching, and wildlife values of Jackson Hole, Wyoming by assisting landowners who wish to protect their land in perpetuity
The Jackson Hole Land Trust is comprised of three departments:
-the Protection department works with willing landowners to protect important conservation values on their property.
-the Development department coordinates fundraising, communications and public education/outreach.
-the Stewardship department is responsible for perpetual monitoring and ecological enhancement of owned land and conservation easement-protected properties.
Harrison owns an 800-acre (3.2-km²) ranch in Jackson Hole, approximately half of which he has donated as a nature reserve to JH Land Trust
The Indianapolis Prize, the world’s leading award for animal conservation, is an award given every other year to an individual who has made significant strides in conservation efforts involving an animal species or multiple animal species.
The Indianapolis Prize was initiated by the Indianapolis Zoo as a significant component of its mission to inspire local and global communities to celebrate, protect, and preserve our natural world through conservation, education and research. This biennial award brings the world’s attention to the cause of animal conservation and the brave, talented and dedicated men and women who spend their lives saving the Earth’s endangered animal species.
