Harrison Ford has officially joined the cast of upcoming romantic drama “Age of Adaline”. He will star opposite Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn, who were previously announced to be part of the project.

Lionsgate, Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment are teaming on the project, with Lionsgate releasing the film in the U.S. Director Lee Toland Krieger starts shooting in March.

Growing up in Chicago, Harrison Ford was always more of a Cubs fan than a Brooklyn Dodgers guy. However, after preparing for his role as baseball pioneer Branch Rickey, Ford found himself in a New York state of mind.

“The more research I did, the more impressed I was,” says Ford, who stars in 42, the story of Dodgers general manager Rickey and Jackie Robinson, who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier in 1947 (and wore the title number on his uniform).

During an interview with actor John Rhys-Davies – who played the role of Sallah in the Indiana Jones movies – he mentioned that, pending the project’s financing being finalized, he expects to reunite with Harrison Ford for a TV project (Yes! a TV project) about the World War II era. The project aims to shoot early next year in Louisiana and China with Rome creator William J. “Bill” MacDonald producing although Rhys-Davies said there is not a director involved yet.

Filming of the Jackie Robinson biopic, 42, began Monday morning at Engel Stadium.

Hundreds of Chattanoogans also had cameo roles. The local “extras” parked early this morning at Finley Stadium and went in CARTA buses to the filming site. A host of extras dressed in 1940s garb got off the buses. Some were in World War II military uniforms.

Sorry about the mess.. but the adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game is slated to hit theaters a little bit later than originally planned. Summit Entertainment announced today that the sci-fi adventure will hit theaters on November 1, 2013 instead of the originally announced date of March 15, 2013, that means eight months later!

Ender’s Game is currently shooting in New Orleans, Louisiana. You can check out updates from the set at the film’s official production blog every Wednesday.
